Beef Kuruma (Korma) in Naadan Preparation is a veggie rich satisfying dish best opted for weekend days. The spicy coconut gravy imparts thickness and wonderful flavor to the curry.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Beef - 500 gm
- Potato - 1 no
- Onion - 1 no
- Raw banana - 1 no
- Ginger - small pc
- Garlic - 5 nos
- Coconut - 3/4 pc
- Dry red chilly - 2 nos
- Shallots - 5 nos
- Curry leaves -, to taste
- Tomato - 3 nos
- Carrot - 1 no
- Coriander leaves -, to taste
- Water -, to taste
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 2 tsp
- Salt -, to taste
- Oil -, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the veggies.
Step 2
Cook the veggies and beef in one cup water with salt and garam masala.
Step 3
Grind coconut with water as needed and mix it with cooked veggies and beef.
Step 4
Add pepper powder, coriander leaves and boil it for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Cook dry red chilly, shallots and curry leaves in oil. Mix it in kuruma.
Step 6
Serve it with ghee rice.
Tip
The binding point is everything — cook the mixture just until it holds shape when pressed. Overcooked, it turns hard; undercooked, it crumbles.
