Beef Koorkka Ittathu
A tasty side dish that goes well with rice and rotis. A very nice combination.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Beef
- 500 g Koorkka
- 2 Onions
- Ginger and garlic — chopped
- 2 Tablespoon Chilli powder
- 2 Tablespoon Corriander powder
- 1 Tablespoon Turmeric powder
- 1 Tablespoon Garam masala Powder
- 10 small Onions
- Salt
- 2 Tablespoon Oil
- 1 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 Tablespoon Perum (jeerakam)
Preparation
Step 1
Add onion, ginger garlic,salt to the beef and mix it well.
Step 2
Add 1 cup of water to the beef and boil the same in a cooker for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Cook the coconut with half of the small onions, curry leaves, ginger, garlic till it becomes brown.
Step 4
Add masalas and powders to the same and cook well.
Step 5
Grind the same to a fine paste.
Step 6
Add the koorkka and the grinded paste to the beef in the cooker. Boil the same.
Step 7
Add oil to the pan and add chopped small onions and green chilles and fry it till brown and add it to the beef.
Step 8
Beef koorkka ittathu is ready.
Tip
The coconut pieces should get slightly crispy along with the beef. They add a textural contrast that makes the dish.
