Beef Curry Easy
A deeply satisfying beef curry easy simmered slowly with freshly ground spices and coconut. The kind of gravy that thickens as it rests and rewards patience with layered, rounded flavour.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1/2 kg Beef
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 1 tbsp Ginger — chopped
- 1 tbsp Garlic — chopped
- 4 nos Green chillies — slit
- 2 nos Tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 nos Cardamom (Elakka)
- 2 nos Cinnamon (Karugapatta)
- 2 nos Cloves (Grambu)
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, to taste
- Curry leaves, a few
Preparation
Step 1
Heat little oil in kadai and fry onion till golden color. Allow it to cool and grind it with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, coriander powder, chilly powder and turmeric powder. Set aside.
Step 2
In pressure cooker, add oil and cook the ground masala for 5 minutes. Add chopped tomatoes and fry again till the oil comes out.
Step 3
Add the beef pieces and salt. Cook with little water.
Step 4
When cooked open the lid and add curry leaves and little oil on top.
Step 5
Delicious recipe, serve hot with rice.
Tip
Thin strips cook faster and develop more crispy surface area than thick cubes. Cut against the grain for tenderness.
