Beef Coconut Fry Easy
Beef Coconut Fry is a tempting Nadan dish with a spicy fragrant flavour of roasted coconut pieces and cubed beef. Slow roasting imparts a brownish crispy hue to the dish. Widely popular with street vendors, Beef Coconut Fry pairs well with porotta and chappathy.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- ½ kg Beef
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 4 nos Green chillies — chopped
- Curry leaves, a few
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- 2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tbsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Meat masala
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 3 nos Dry red chillies
- ½ cup Coconut slices
- Coconut oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing beef coconut fry, first dry roast the coriander powder and chilli powder in a slow fire. The powder should start to turn dark in colour.
Step 2
Marinate the beef with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, roasted powder, meat masala, garam masala, 1 tbsp oil, curry leaves and required salt.
Step 3
Keep this refrigerated for 1 hour.4)Pressure cook the beef with 1 glass of water and make it a dry mix.In another kadai, heat 2 tbsp oil. Fry onion, chillies, green chillies, curry leaves and coconut slices.
Step 4
Sprinkle a pinch of salt. When it turns dark color, add the cooked beef and fry it in slow fire.
Step 5
And spicy beef coconut fry is ready.
Tip
Patience at the dry-roasting stage is everything. The longer you let the moisture evaporate, the more concentrated the flavour becomes.
