Beaten Rice(Aval) Corn Flour Sweet
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Beaten rice Aval
- 1/2 cup Corn flour
- Jaggery syrup, as needed
- 3 cup Coconut milk
- Sago/Tapioca pearls cooked, Chowwary
- Cashew nuts, raisins, coconut slices fried in ghee
- Cardamompowder, as needed
- 3 tbsp Ghee
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing beaten rice corn flour sweet, roast beaten rice in ghee.
Step 2
Add corn flour and jaggery syrup. Fry well.
Step 3
Next, add coconut milk and allow it to boil.
Step 4
Mix in chowari, cashew nuts, raisins, coconut slices and cardamom powder. Stir everything together thoroughly. take it off the heat.
Step 5
Beaten rice corn flour sweet is ready. Serve hot.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
