Basic Vanilla Sponge Cake
an easy and foolproof recipe for a sponge vanilla cake that can form a base to pretty much any party cake or birthday cake you want to put together.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup All purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tbsp Milk powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- 4 nos Egg
- 1/4 cup Sunflower oil
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Sift all the dry ingredients in a bowl and keep it ready.
Step 2
Beat eggs with sugar for 6-7 minutes. Then add sunflower oil, milk and vanilla extract. Mix it slowly with a spatula.
Step 3
Add the mixed flour part by part to the creamed mixture and blend well till no flour remains.
Step 4
Pour the creamed mixture into the greased cake pan. Cook it in low flame for 35-40 minutes.
Step 5
Fluffy and spongy basic vanilla cake is ready.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
