Basen Ladoo
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 3 cup Basen Kadala mavu
- 100 g Ghee
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)
- 11/2 cup Sugar — powdered
- Cashew nuts fried
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing besan ladoo, roast the basen in a thick bottomed vessel.
Step 2
Let the roasted basen cool.
Step 3
Add powdered sugar, cashew nuts and cardamom to the roasted basen and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Add hot ghee to the mixture. Stir everything together thoroughly and make small balls out of the mixture.
Step 5
Basen ladoo is ready. Serve hot.
