Banana Puttu
Steamed layers of rice flour and coconut inside a cylindrical mould — puttu is Kerala morning fuel. It crumbles apart on the plate and soaks up kadala curry, banana, or just a spoonful of sugar and ghee.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 nos Coconut — grated
- 4 cup Rice flour Puttu powder — roasted
- Salt, to taste
- 5 nos Banana sliced small
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)
- 1 tsp Ghee
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing banana puttu, mix the ingredients: puttu powder, salt, sugar and cardamom powder by sprinkling required water to make the puttu maavu.
Step 2
Mix the ingredients: coconut, banana and ghee in another bowl.
Step 3
Make the banana puttu in steam by adding the banana mixture in between the puttu in place of coconut.
Step 4
Banana puttu is ready. Serve hot.
