Banana Cutlette
Crispy, golden, and gone before they cool down — these fried snacks are the kind of thing that appears with evening tea and disappears within minutes. Best eaten hot, right out of the oil.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 500 g Banana
- 1 Egg white
- Bread crumbs, to taste
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Slice the banana along with its skin and boil it in water.
Step 2
Drain the water and peel the banana. Either mash it with a spoon or grind it in a traditional stone or you can also use a mixer grinder.
Step 3
Make cutlettes of desired shape. Dip it in egg white and then cover it in bread crumbs.
Step 4
Heat the oil in kadai and fry the cutlette on both sides till it turns lightly browned.
Step 5
Serve it as an evening snack.
Tip
Drain on a wire rack instead of paper towels — the rack keeps the bottom from getting steamy and losing its crispness.
