Banana Appam
A quick appam recipe that you can prepare when you have sudden guest.This is also an instant appam using wheat flour and over ripe banana.This is a quick appam which you can make for any special occasions.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 11/2 cup Wheat flour
- 1/2 cup Coconut
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1 Over ripe banana
- Cardamom powder pinch
- Oil — for frying
- Salt pinch
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Remove the outer skin and grind the banana.
Step 2
In a bowl add wheat flour,cardamom powder,grated coconut,banana, sugar and a pinch of salt.add water little by little to form a smooth thick batter.
Step 3
Heat oil and pour the batter using a laddle. fry until it becomes brown colour.
Step 4
Soft and sweet banana appam is ready.
Tip
The swirling motion takes practice. Your first two appams will likely be imperfect — consider them warm-up rounds.
