Baby Taro In Spicy Yogurt Curry(Chembu Moru Curry)
Chembu moru curry is a recipe,the main ingtedient of this recipe is Chembu/Taro.A meal with Chembu Moru Curry is a great combination.The combination is irresistable for me.Curru tastes even better once it cools and sits for a while.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Taro
- 1 cup Curd
- 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
- 3/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Mustard
- Curry leaves little
- 1 Cup,grated Coconut
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Pell the taro/chemb and wash it nicely.
Step 2
Add turmeric powder,chilly powder,salt and 2 cup water.
Step 3
Cook it in a pressure cooker for 1 whistle.
Step 4
Heat the oil in a clay pot and allow to crackle mustard seed in it.
Step 5
Add cooked taro with enough water and let it boil.
Step 6
Grind the coconut with little water to make a thick paste.
Step 7
Add this thick coconut paste and curd into this cooking taro and cook for few second.when it starts boil,turn off the heat.
Step 8
Goes well with rice as a side dish.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
