Arrow Root Drink
Arrow root drink also known as Koova kachiyathu is a energy drink for any age group people.It's soft and easily digestible qualities make this drink a healthy drink too.It's mostly used in Kerala and it do not have a flavour of their own so we add cardamom to give it special aroma.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 3 - Arrow root powder Koova podi
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1/2 piece Coconut
- Raisins and cardamon — for garnishing
- 3 cup Water
- Salt pinch
Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add arrow root powder and 1/2 cup water.give it a good stir and strain it.
Step 2
Get a bottom thick vessel add arrow root water,crushed cardamom,a pinch of salt and water.
Step 3
Pour coconut paste trough a sieve to get thick coconut milk.Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Let's start boil it, stir it continuously till it becomes thick.
Step 5
Add sugar when it starts thick and turn off the heat.
Step 6
Garnish it with cashew nuts and raisins and serve chilled.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
