Ariyada - Made With Rice Powder
A traditional Kerala sweet snack made with care and a generous hand of ghee. The kind of thing grandmothers make for festivals and grandchildren make excuses to visit for.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 cup Rice powder
- 50 g Jaggery
- 1 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 4 nos Banana leaves
Preparation
Step 1
Add warm water and ghee in the rice powder and make a paste.
Step 2
Make jaggery and coconut like a mixture.
Step 3
Spread the Rice powder paste in the banana leaves and fill the jaggery coconut mixture.
Step 4
Fold the leaf and put it in a Tava and heat until the leaves are fried.
Step 5
Your Ariyada is ready! :- Serve the Ariyada hot!
Tip
Jaggery burns easily. Melt it on low heat and always strain it to remove grit before adding it to the mixture.
