Apple - Grapes Pickle
A tangy, spicy condiment that keeps for weeks and adds a sharp kick to any Kerala meal. Made with care and stored in a clean jar, this pickle gets better as the days pass and the flavours meld together.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 750 g Apple — chopped
- 250 g Grapes
- 1 nos Onion cut in circle
- 1 cup Jaggery Sharkara — powdered
- 250 g Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Dry chilly skin
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cook onion in vinegar for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Add rest of ingredients and boil it for 2 minute.
Step 3
Before serving keep it in sunlight for 1 week.
Tip
The jar must be completely dry and the spoon must be clean every time you take from it. Any moisture introduces bacteria and spoils the pickle.
