Yummy Prawns Fry Kerala Style
Prawns Fry Kerala style. Easy to make and easier to Eat Dish. Prawns fry made with coconut pieces, onion and tomato and prepared dry.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/2 kg Prawns fresh or frozen, Chemmeen
- 2 nos Onions — thinly sliced
- 3 nos Green chillies
- Curry leaves A, a few
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 2 tbsp Red chilly powder
- 11/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup Coconut pieces
- Ginger(chopped
- Garlic(chopped
- 1 nos Tomato — chopped
- Coriander leaves
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Boil cleaned prawns with slit green chillies, curry leaves, 1/2 tbsp of coriander powder, 1 tbsp of chilly powder and 1 tbsp of turmeric powder.
Step 2
When cooked, season with salt to your taste.
Step 3
Warm the oil in a pan or a kadai.
Step 4
Fry chopped ginger garlic for a while.
Step 5
Add onion and coconut pieces followed by the remaining portions of red chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
Step 6
Keep frying till the onion is golden brown and the masala brings out a nice aroma.
Step 7
Add the chopped tomatoes and keep frying for another 2 minutes.
Step 8
Finally add the cooked prawns to this mixture.
Step 9
Keep on medium heat and fry till the prawns start becoming brown and fried.
Step 10
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Step 11
Serve Kerala Prawns Fry hot with rice.
Tip
Patience at the dry-roasting stage is everything. The longer you let the moisture evaporate, the more concentrated the flavour becomes.
