Vattiya Puttu
Steamed layers of rice flour and coconut inside a cylindrical mould — puttu is Kerala morning fuel. It crumbles apart on the plate and soaks up kadala curry, banana, or just a spoonful of sugar and ghee.

- Rice flour(puttu podi) 1cup
- Water 1cup
- Salt required
- Coconut required
Preparation
Step 1
Boil water in a vessel add enough salt 2.add rice flour in to the boiling water and give it a good stir for few seconds and switch of the stove 3.wait sometime because the content must be cool for grinding 4.grind the flour in a mixie (it may be 2-3 backward rotation of mixie) 5 then add this grinted soft flour into the puttu maker followed by coconut and put it in the steam for cook.
Tip
When the recipe says "medium heat," it means medium. Kerala cooking is not about high-flame drama — most of the work happens at a patient, steady temperature.
