Uzhunnu Vada-Urad Dal Vada With Sambar
Uzhunnu vada/Minapappu vada/Uddina vade/Ulundhu vadai made with ground black gram(Uzhunnuparippu).
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 glass Black gram (Uzhunnuparippu)
- 1 nos Onion — cut into small pieces, big
- Salt, to taste
- 2 nos Green chillies — cut into small pieces
- 1 tsp Pepper
- Curry leaves — cut into small pieces
- 1" piece Ginger — cut into small pieces
- 1/4 tsp Soda powder
Preparation
Step 1
1)Soak the dal in water for some time. 2)Grind it with 1/4 cup of water. :- It would be better if u don`t add water. 3)Add salt and grind again. 4)Add the rest of the ingredients to this ground dal and Stir everything together thoroughly. 5)Pat hands with water. 6)Make balls off the paste and make patties. 7)Make a hole in between the Uzhunnu Vada patties. 8)fry in hot oil Uzhunnu Vada in oil till golden brown. :- Serve Uzhunnu Vada/Minapappu vada/Uddina vade/Ulundhu vadai hot with chutney or sambhar.
Tip
The coconut paste is what makes Kerala sambar distinct from Tamil sambar. Grind it fresh — packaged coconut does not have the same effect.
