Tropical Milk Shake
A refreshing drink that cools you down on a hot Kerala afternoon. Made with fresh ingredients and served chilled, it is the kind of thing you keep refilling without realising.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 nos Ripe mango — chopped
- 1 nos Banana ripe
- 1 nos Pineapple cleaned ,cubed and cooked lightly, medium
- Or 1 can (medium sized
- Sugar, to taste
- 2 cup Chilled milk
- 4 Scoops Vanilla icecream
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- Whipped cream — optional
Preparation
Step 1
Blend together pieces of mangoes, pineapple and banana and sugar and pulse in a mixer jar or juicer for 1 min.
Step 2
Add half of milk and pulse for about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add the remaining milk and vanilla essence and pulse till smooth.
Step 4
Pour in tall glasses and put a scoop of ice-cream in each glass and top with whipped cream.
Step 5
Substitute with any seasonal fruit but keep in mind to keep the balance of sweetness and sourness. :- Always use atleast one sweet fruit with two sour fruits. Too much sourness may ruin the shake with its acidity.
Tip
Taste as you go. Recipes are guidelines — your palate is the final judge. Adjust salt, sourness, and heat to what tastes right to you.
