Thakkali Chemmeen Vattichathu
Chemmen Vattichathu with Irumban puli, a nice recipe with prawns.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 3 nos Tomato sliced and unseeded
- 1 nos Onion — sliced
- 5 nos Green chillies — chopped
- 1/2 cup Prawn cooked with salt and pepper
- 6 nos Bilimbi Irumban (puli)
- 1/2 Of Coconut
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 2 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
- 4 nos Shallots (Kunjulli)
- Salt, to taste
- Tamarind, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing thakkali chemmeen vattichathu, grind the ingredients: coconut, turmeric, chilly powder and shallots.
Step 2
Boil this paste with the ingredients tomato, onion, green chillies, prawn and irumban puli.
Step 3
Add the rest ingredients when the tomato is cooked. Heat in low flame for 15 min.
Step 4
Add the coconut oil on top, twist the dish and take it from flame. Serve hot.
Tip
Seafood cooks in minutes. The single biggest mistake is overcooking — the moment fish turns opaque or prawns curl and go pink, they are done.
