Sweet Muttayapam
Sweet muttayappam is a sweetest version of kannur style muttayappam. It looks like Neyyapam but the ingredients are diffrent.Here I use raw rice ,cooked rice and egg to prepare the batter.You can serve it as a evening snack with a cup of.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Raw rice
- 3/4 cup Cooked rice
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 3 Cardamom
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Soak raw rice for 1 hour.
Step 2
Grind raw rice,cooked rice,sugar until soft.Add very little water,the batter should be very thick.
Step 3
Add egg,salt and blend it again.
Step 4
Heat the oil in and pour spoon full of batter to it and fry until lightly browned.
Step 5
Sweet muttayappam is ready.
Tip
When working with jaggery, always melt and strain it first. Even the best quality jaggery has some grit that needs to be removed.
