Stuffed Banana Fry
Banana are stuffed with dry fruits and sandwiched. They are then dipped in batter and fried in oil.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 5 nos Bananas (Ethakka)
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 1 cup Beaten rice Aval
- 2 tbsp Raisins Unakka munthiri
- 2 tbsp Cashew nuts
- 1 cup All purpose flour Maida
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 nos Egg beaten
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp Sugar
- Baking soda A pinch
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing stuffed banana fry, peel the bananas and cut them into halves.
Step 2
Heat ghee. Roast beaten rice until it becomes slightly crispy.
Step 3
In the same oil fry the raisins and cashew nuts one by one.
Step 4
Make a thick batter with maida, cardamom powder, water, egg, salt, sugar and baking soda. Stir everything together thoroughly and ensure there are no lumps.
Step 5
Get one half banana and layer with beaten rice and dry fruits mixture.
Step 6
Sandwich or close it with the other half. Do the same with the other bananas also.
Step 7
Warm the oil in a pan, dip the banana sandwich in the batter and fry in hot oil it till it becomes golden brown.
Step 8
Stuffed banana fry is ready. Serve hot.
Tip
Patience at the dry-roasting stage is everything. The longer you let the moisture evaporate, the more concentrated the flavour becomes.
