Spicy Grilled Fish-Chutta Meen
Drained fish fillets are marinated in a mixture of green chillies, garlic, olive oil, other ingredients and grilled in a preheated oven.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Fish fillets
- 6 Nos/As Green chillies
- 3 nos Garlic cloves
- 1 tsp Green pepper corns — optional
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- Coriander leaves, a few
- 21/2 tbsp Olive oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
First grind together green chillies, garlic cloves, green pepper corns(optional), lemon juice, 2 tbsp olive oil and required salt to a smooth chutney like consistency.
Step 2
Stir in the washed and drained fish pieces and blend the masala paste evenly on all sides.
Step 3
Keep the marinated fish in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Step 4
Place the fish pieces in the grill rack.
Step 5
Grill fish for 5 minutes or more as per requirement. Turn over and grill again for another 5 minutes.
Step 6
Spicy grilled fish/chutta meen is ready. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.
Tip
A clay pot gives fish curry a distinctive taste that metal pans cannot replicate. If you have a manchatti, use it.
