Spicy Egg Kuruma
A side dish that goes perfect with appam, porotta, chappathi, almost everything. This is a popular dish in Indian Cuisine with a spicy aromatic gravy. The creamy coconut milk flavored thick gravy is a favorite dish.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 4 nos Egg boiled
- 2 nos Onion — chopped
- 5 nos Green chillies
- 7 Cloves garlic — chopped
- 1 piece Ginger 2tsp — chopped
- 2 cup Coconut milk
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 5 nos Shallots — chopped (kunjulli)
- 2 nos Tomato — chopped
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tsp Garam masala — crushed
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the Dish, first heat little oil in pan. Fry half of onion, green chillies, ginger and half of garlic. Add garam masala, fry for a while.
Step 2
When cooled, grind it.
Step 3
Heat the oil in pan, fry remaining half of onion and tomato well.
Step 4
Add the ground paste and cook well.
Step 5
Add little water and cook masala. Add turmeric and salt.
Step 6
Finally add coconut milk. When it starts to boil, take it off the heat. Add the boiled eggs in it.
Step 7
In the pan, heat oil and fry shallots, half of garlic for 5 minutes.
Step 8
Pour over the curry. Serve hot.
Step 9
Spicy egg dish is ready.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
