Spicy Chicken In Green Gravy
Chicken is marinated and the gravy is made by mixing different ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1k g Chicken
- 2 nos Potatoes cubed small and boiled
- 3 nos Onions cut small
- 2 inch Ginger — minced
- 5 Cloves Garlic — minced
- 3 nos Green chillies
- 2 Bunches Spinach
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves
- 1 bunch Mint leaves
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Chilly powder
- 3 tsp Pepper powder
- 2 tsp Garam masala
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp Lime juice
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 cup Fresh Cream beaten well
- Oil, to taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing spicy chicken in green gravy, cut chicken into small pieces and clean it.
Step 2
Marinate the chicken with turmeric powder, 2 tsp pepper powder, salt and lime juice. Set aside for 2 hrs.
Step 3
Blanch the spinach leaves and leave to cool.
Step 4
Fry the chicken till it becomes crispy and set aside.
Step 5
Grind the blanched spinach, coriander leaves and mint leaves into a smooth paste.
Step 6
Get about 2 tbsp oil from the oil used for frying and pour into another pan.
Step 7
When it gets hot, fry onions, ginger, garlic and green chilies till it becomes light brown.
Step 8
Add chilly powder, coriander powder and 1 tsp of garam masala.
Step 9
Then pour the leaves paste, required water and potatoes into this pan.
Step 10
Once the potatoes are cooked add the fried chicken.
Step 11
Cover the pan and wait for it to boil. Add salt if required at this point.
Step 12
Next, add fresh cream and stir. Lower the flame. It should become hot, don't let it boil.
Step 13
Garnish by sprinkling pepper powder and garam masala powder.
Step 14
Spicy chicken in green gravy is ready. Serve hot with rice, bread, paratha etc.
Tip
Marinate for at least 30 minutes if you can — the spices penetrate deeper and the chicken stays juicier.
