Instant Custard Drink | Custard Milkshake
Quick to blend, impossible to stop at one glass. This drink is a staple across Kerala homes, especially during the summer months when the heat demands something cold and reviving.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 500+500 ml Milk
- 3 tbsp Custard powder
- 1 nos Carrot Chopped or — grated
- 2 tbsp Basil seeds
- 1 cup Condensed milk
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the milk and when it starts boiling, pour condensed milk.
Step 2
Next, add the corn flour mixture (custard powder mixed with some milk without lumps) and stir continuously until it becomes thick and turn off the heat.
Step 3
Let it cool and pour the remaining milk and soaked basil seeds.
Step 4
Add chopped carrot and Stir everything together thoroughly. Refrigerate for 2 hours at least.
Step 5
Add some sugar if you want and serve chilled.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
