Spice Cake
Maida flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk, dates pieces and other ingredients beaten together to a smooth batter and oven baked.

- 1 cup Flour
- 3/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon — powdered (Karugapatta)
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg grated, Jathika
- 11/2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Coco powder
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1 nos Egg
- 1 cup Mixed nuts — crushed
Preparation
Step 1
Beat together all the ingredients: maida, brown sugar, cinnamon, milk, nutmeg, baking powder,coco powder, butter and egg to a smooth batter.
Step 2
Pour the cake mixture into a greased cake dish with the nuts and bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes at 350ª.
Step 3
Spice cake is ready.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
