Soya Ularthu
A home-style Kerala dish made with care and the kind of spice knowledge that comes from watching someone else cook it a hundred times. Each step matters, and the result is worth the effort.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 cup Soya chunks — minced
- 1 Spoon Ginger garlic paste
- 1 Spoon Chilly powder
- 1/2 Spoon Garam masala
- 1/2 Spoon Meat masala
- 1/4 Spoon Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 nos Onion — cut into lenthwise, big size
- Mustard seeds, a few
- 1 Spring Curry leaves
- 1 tbsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Boil Soya chunks with little salt.
Step 2
When it has softened put it in cold water and mince it.
Step 3
Make a paste of chilly, turmeric, meat masala, garam masala and ginger garlic paste by adding little water.
Step 4
Warm the oil in a pan and put musterd seeds into it.
Step 5
Add sliced onion and curryleaves cook it, stirring by adding salt.
Step 6
Add the masala paste into this and cook well.
Step 7
When the aroma comes, add the mince soya chunks.
Step 8
Put it in very low flame for 10 minutes.
Step 9
Goes well with Rice or chappathi!
