Soya Bean Curry
highly recommended for the health conscious who want to refrain from meat and other delicacies. Soya chunks or soya nuggets are widely used in lot of cuisines as they are protein rich and healthy.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 500 g Soya Bean chunks
- 3 nos Onion
- 4 nos Green chillies
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
- 2 nos Tomato
- Curry leaves A, a few
- 3 tbsp Oil
- Salt I would suggest 2 tsp as soya absorbs the salt
- 1/2 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
Preparation
Step 1
Soak the soya chunks for 3 - 4 hrs in water. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
Pour oil into a pan and heat it.
Step 3
Cook the onions, ginger-garlic paste and the green chillies.
Step 4
Once the onions turn a little brownish, add the tomatoes and leave it for 2 or 3 minutes.
Step 5
Add the mentioned powders into this mix and cook once again.
Step 6
Get the drained soya chunks and add it to the mixture.
Step 7
Add one glass water, salt and some curry leaves.
Step 8
Close the lid and let it bubble for 10 - 15 minutes.
Step 9
Serve while still hot with Chapati or Rice.
Tip
The oil separating from the masala is your signal that the base is properly cooked. Do not add the main ingredient before you see those pools of oil on the surface.
