Quick Pressure Cooker Mutton Curry
A deeply satisfying quick pressure cooker mutton curry simmered slowly with freshly ground spices and coconut. The kind of gravy that thickens as it rests and rewards patience with layered, rounded flavour.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1 kg Mutton
- 2 large Onion
- 2 nos Tomato
- 5 nos Green chilly Make a paste
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- 2 tsp Garlic paste
- 3 tbsp Coriander powder
- 2 tsp Red chilly powder
- 3/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Garam masala Pinch
- Coriander leaves Little
- Salt, to taste
- 3 tbsp Oil
- Water
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker. Add chopped onion and cook it, stirring for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Add chopped tomato.
Step 3
Add ginger, garlic and green chilly paste.
Step 4
Cook again for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add coriander powder, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt to taste.
Step 6
Add mutton pieces.
Step 7
Add water and mix it well.
Step 8
Put the lid on pressure cooker and cook on high for 20 minutes.
Step 9
Now the quick pressure cooker mutton curry is ready to serve. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Tip
Low and slow is the only way with mutton. Rushing the cooking gives you tough, chewy meat instead of fork-tender pieces.
