Soft & Tasty Dosa At Home
Crispy on the edges, soft in the middle — this soft & tasty dosa at home is a breakfast staple across Kerala. The batter comes together quickly and the dosa cooks in under a minute on a hot tawa.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Rice : 1 cup
- Urad daal (black gram dal) : ½ cup
- Salt, to taste
- Water : sufficient to make a smooth batter
- Ghee or oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Soak rice for about 5 hours.
Step 2
Soak urad dal for 3 hours.
Step 3
Grind dal and rice using water in a mixer or grinder.
Step 4
Make it a smooth batter and add sufficient salt to it mix it well.
Step 5
Then heat a pan add little oil or ghee to it and when it gets hot pour the smooth matter in to it and spread using a spoon.
Step 6
Make the both sides cooked.
Step 7
Serve while still hot with chutney and sambar.
Tip
The pan must be properly hot before you pour the batter. Sprinkle a few drops of water — if they sizzle and evaporate immediately, the temperature is right.
