Ridge Gourd-Peechinga Thoran
very simple thoran. In south india we regular use this Ridge Gourd-Peechinga. This very cook fast we can do many type of recipe in this Ridge Gourd-Peechinga .
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 2 nos Ridge gourd/peechinga
- 1 nos Onion
- 4 nos Green chillies
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup Coconut — grated
- Curry leaves, a few
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 nos Dry red chillies
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Peel the skin of peechinga, cut into very small pieces.
Step 2
Mix peechinga, onion, green chillies, turmeric powder, grated coconut, curry leaves and salt togther with hand.
Step 3
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil, let the mustard seeds crackle and add red chillies.
Step 4
Add the vegetable mix to the pan and cook in a low flame. Serve hot.
Tip
The pan should be completely dry when you finish — no moisture should remain. That dryness is what gives thoran its characteristic texture.
