Raw Jack Fruit Potato Curry
Cooked low and slow until the masala melds into the gravy, this potato curry carries the unmistakable warmth of Kerala spices — black pepper, curry leaves, and coconut. Pair it with steaming rice and a crisp pappadam.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Raw jack fruit
- 2 Potato — chopped
- 15 nos Shallots
- ¼ cup Tamarind water
- ¼ cup Coconut
- 1 tbsp Sambhar powder
- Salt s per taste
- ¼ tsp Tumeric
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 Tomato
- 1 tsp Mustard and fenugreek and jeera
Preparation
Step 1
Clean jack fruit and chop and set aside.
Step 2
Stir in in cooker with water and turmeric and little salt boil 10 minutes.
Step 3
Stir in oil and temper Mustard and fenugreek and jeera.
Step 4
Stir in shallots and cook well add potato cook well.
Step 5
Stir in cooked jack fruit Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 6
Stir in all powder and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 7
Stir in tamarind water bring to boil.
Step 8
In mixer jar add coconut and tomato and grind well and add to curry and bring to boil.
Step 9
Now the Raw jack fruit potato curry ready to serve with rice.
Tip
The oil separating from the masala is your signal that the base is properly cooked. Do not add the main ingredient before you see those pools of oil on the surface.
