Quick & Yummy Chilly Chicken With Gravy
A robust chicken preparation where the meat absorbs a pounding of Kerala spices and slow-cooked onions. The curry leaves and coconut oil make it unmistakably from this part of the world.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Chicken : 500 gm
- Capsicum : ¼ cup
- Onion : ¼ cup
- Green chilly : 4 nos
- Garlic : 8 cloves
- Spring onion : 2 nos
- Pepper powder : 3 tsp
- Chilly sauce : 2 tsp
- Soya sauce : 2 tsp
- Cornflour : 2 tsp
- Salt, to taste
- Oil : 1 tsp
Preparation
Step 1
Mix the chicken with pepper powder and salt then set aside.

Heat a pan and add oil then add garlic and cook it, stirring well.

Next, add onion and capsicum and give it a good stir (it should be sliced in big pieces).

Next, add red chilly sauce to it and give it a good stir.

Next, add chicken and soya sauce.
Step 7
Give it a good stir and add salt, pepper powder as per taste.
Step 8
Next, add corn flour solution to it.
Step 9
Give it a good stir and add spring onion to it.
Step 10
Then close it and wait for 15 minutes.
Step 11
If the chicken gets cooked serve it hot.
Tip
Marinate for at least 30 minutes if you can — the spices penetrate deeper and the chicken stays juicier.
