Pearl Spot-Karimeen Fry
Pearl spot fish marinated in a mixture of lemon juice, red chillies, other ingredients and later deep fried.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 4 nos Pearl Spot/Karimeen washed and — drained
- 3/4 tbsp Lime juice
- Oil, to taste
- 4 nos Shallots
- 4 nos Pepper corns
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 4 nos Dry red chillies
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing pearl spot/karimeen fry, first make slits on the drained karimeen pieces and smear lime juice over the fishes.
Step 2
Meanwhile grind together shallots, pepper corns, garlic, dry red chillies and required salt to a smooth paste.
Step 3
Apply the marinade on the karimeen and set aside for 1 hour.
Step 4
Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry in hot oil the karimeen on both sides till golden brown.
Step 5
Pearl spot/karimeen fry, a And nutritious recipe, is ready. Serve hot with onion rings.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
