Pavakka Thenga Arachu Vecha Curry
Pavakka thenga arachu vecha curry is a tasty curry which is made with pavakka,raw mango and ground coconut tastes best with rice with a stir fried vegetable and fried fish on the side.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 Bitter gourd/pavakka
- 1 Cup,grated Coconut
- 2 Tomato
- 3 Green chilly
- 5 Shallots
- 1 small Raw mango
- 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
- 3/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Mustard
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt
- Curry leaves
Preparation
Step 1
Prep all your vegetables — wash, peel, and chop them before you start cooking.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and allow to crackle mustard seed in it.
Step 3
Add shallots and cook until it goes golden brown.
Step 4
Add tomato,green chilly,bitter gourd,rae mango,chilly powder,turmeric powder and salt.
Step 5
Pour one cup water and let it go for 3-4 whistles.
Step 6
When it is cooked,grind coconut with little water and mix it with the curry.add more water if required to get the correct consistency level of curry.
Step 7
Take it off the heat. when it starts to boil.
Step 8
Pavakka thenga arachu vecha curry is ready to serve.
Tip
The oil separating from the masala is your signal that the base is properly cooked. Do not add the main ingredient before you see those pools of oil on the surface.
