Naadan Fish Curry
Rich, fragrant, and full-bodied — this fish curry gets its depth from slow-cooked shallots and a careful balance of chilli heat and tang. Serve with appam, rice, or porotta.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- Fish (nangu) 1 kg
- Onion 2
- Ginger 1 inch piece
- Tomato 1 or 2
- Green chilly 5
- Red chilly powder 2 t
Preparation
Step 1
Clean fish and slice in square shape.
Step 2
Heat a pan add oil and put ginger, onion,green chilly,curry leaves and cook it, stirring well.
Step 3
Next, add tomato and cook it, stirring well.
Step 4
When its become brown add all the powders and cook,then add water, black cocum or mango.
Step 5
Let it get boiled.
Step 6
Next, add sliced fish to it.
Step 7
Then cook it, stirring slowly.
Step 8
Close the pan for 10 minute, or until it gets cooked.
Step 9
Our spicy and Fish curry is ready.
Step 10
Serve while still hot.
Tip
Taste the gravy before adding the main ingredient. It should be well-seasoned and balanced on its own — the protein or vegetable will dilute it slightly.
