Mushroom Masala Easy | Homemade Mushroom Masala
A flavourful homemade veg curry made with mushrooms and spices. A simple, comforting dish perfect for daily meals.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 Pack Sliced Mushrooms
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 1 nos Onion
- 1 nos Tomato
- 4 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 4 Stems Coriander leaves — optional
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the delicious dish, first wash mushrooms in warm water.
Step 2
Pour oil into a pan and heat it.
Step 3
Add ginger and garlic paste and stir till browned.
Step 4
Add chopped onions and stir, till onions are cooked.
Step 5
Add coriander powder, masala powder and stir, till the smell of masala powder comes out.
Step 6
Add one or two chopped tomatoes, chilly powder and give it a good stir, till tomatoes blend well.
Step 7
Add mushrooms, cover the pan with a lid and cook on a low fame, till mushroom is cooked.
Step 8
Secret to cooking mushroom well is that you should not cook mushroom in water. Mushroom, itself has a lot of fluid which comes out when heated up. Hence it gets cooked in its own fluid.
Step 9
Add water and salt to taste and stir the curry dish well, till everything blends.
Step 10
Garnish the Curry with coriander leaves.
Step 11
Serve Mushroom Masala Curry hot with rice or roti.

Tip
Grinding spices fresh makes a noticeable difference. Pre-ground powders lose their punch within weeks. Buy whole, toast lightly, and grind as you need.
