Muringakka Kaambu And Muringa Poo Thoran
I tried this recipe for my kids and it comes out really well.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- Muringakka(drumstick) 5
- Muringa ila 1 cup
- Muringa poo 1 cup
- Coconut 1 cup
- Onion 1
- Shallot 5
- Dried red chilly 4
- Green chilly 3
- Mustard 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder 2 tsp
- Curry leaves 2 sprig
- Salt
Preparation
Step 1
At first cut the drumstick in to two equal halves.
Step 2
Get out the flesh or kaambu from this, dont take the skin from the drumstick.
Step 3
Get a kadai and put this kaambu,coconut,onion and turmeric powder to it.
Step 4
Add curry laves and salt.
Step 5
Add 1 cup of water, then let it go for 5 minute, close the kadai.
Step 6
After 5 minutes,when its cooked off the flame.
Step 7
Clean the muringa leaf and flower.
Step 8
Heat another kadai or pan and pour oil to it when its hot add mustard and when it allow to crackles add shallot, curry leaves.
Step 9
Cook it, stirring well and then add dried red chilly and then add the flower and leaf to it.
Step 10
Next, add the kambu mix,then close the pan for 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 11
When its ready and cooked well,off the flame.
Step 12
Serve while still hot.
Tip
Shred the vegetable as fine as you can — the thinner the cuts, the better the thoran. A sharp knife makes all the difference.
