Mixed Adai
Roasted semolina mixed with powdered rice and other ingredients to make adai.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 2 cup Semolina roasted, Rawa
- 1 cup Rice — powdered
- 1 cup Curd
- 1 cup Soya chunks — crushed
- 3/4 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 cup Onion — finely chopped
- Ginger a small piece — finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (Kayam)
- Baking soda A pinch
- Curry leaves — chopped
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Get roasted semolina, powdered white rice, soya chunks and kayam powder in a vessel. Mix gently.
Step 2
Add baking soda to curd and add to the above semolina mixture. Add little water and required salt to make a smooth batter.
Step 3
Add the remaining ingredients to the dosa batter: grated coconut, chopped onion, ginger and curry leaves. Stir and mix.
Step 4
Heat a tawa and brush surface with little oil. Spread out the batter like a dosa and fry on both sides.
Step 5
Mixed adai, a highly nutritional breakfast dish, is ready.
Tip
Jaggery burns easily. Melt it on low heat and always strain it to remove grit before adding it to the mixture.
