Mix Veg Thoran
Thoran is a dish of Kerala cuisine. This dry dish is prepared with one or more finely chopped vegetables stir-fried with coconut.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 Carrot — grated
- 1 Capsicm — chopped
- Cabbage chopped 1cup
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Urad dal
- 2 Dry chilly
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 Onion
- 1 Coconut — grated
Preparation
Step 1
Warm the oil in a kadai add mustard seeds.when mustard allow to crackles add urad dal and dry chilly Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 2
Next, add chopped cabbage Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Next, add grated carrot to this and cook for a minute.
Step 4
Add capsicm to this and stir for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Grind coconut,cumin seeds onion and chilli powder in a mixer.
Step 6
Add this ground mix to kadai add salt and stir for 5 minutes.
Step 7
Now mix veg thoran is ready to serve.
Step 8
We can serve with hot rice.
Tip
Shred the vegetable as fine as you can — the thinner the cuts, the better the thoran. A sharp knife makes all the difference.
