Manga Kichadi
A home-style Kerala dish made with care and the kind of spice knowledge that comes from watching someone else cook it a hundred times. Each step matters, and the result is worth the effort.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 nos Small mangoes not so sour
- 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup Curd Not sour
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 - Dry red chillies (Kollamulaku)
- Curry leaves, a few
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Manga Kichadi, clean the mangoes well and cut them into tiny pieces.
Step 2
Put chilly powder and salt to it and Stir everything together thoroughly. (just like marinating).
Step 3
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil.
Step 4
Crackle mustard seeds, dry red chillies and curry leaves.
Step 5
Add this to the mixture of mangoes.
Step 6
Allow it to cool.
Step 7
Add curd to this mixture and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 8
Manga Kichadi is ready.
