Malabar Special Spicy Beef Fry
Kerala-style dry fry where beef is cooked down until all the moisture evaporates and what remains is intensely flavoured, slightly caramelised, and impossibly moreish. Best with parotta or plain rice.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 500 g Beef
- 2 small Ginger
- 5 Cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 cup Shallots — chopped
- 1/2 tsp Fennel seed
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 Stem Curry leaves
- Salt, to taste
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Clean and cut the beef into small pieces.
Step 2
Get a pressure cooker and add beef,crushed ginger garlic and chopped shallots.
Step 3
Add all masala powders.
Step 4
Mix it well.
Step 5
Pressure cook it fo 6-7 whistle.Open the lid.
Step 6
Heat the oil in a iron skillet and add curry leaves.
Step 7
Add cooked beef and fry it for 3-4 minutes in medium flame.
Step 8
Malabar special spicy beef fry is ready.
Tip
The coconut pieces should get slightly crispy along with the beef. They add a textural contrast that makes the dish.
