Ladies Finger-Okra Soup
A simple and nutritious okra soup which can be prepared in a few minutes.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 75 g Ladies finger chopped, Okra
- 1/4 Of Coconut — grated
- 100 g Jaggery Sarkara
- 1/2 tsp Cummin seeds — powdered (Jeerakam)
Preparation
Step 1
Boil jaggery with a little water and when it becomes liquid, take it off the heat. Set aside.
Step 2
Chop the ladies finger and add 4 glasses of water. Boil and Let it cook for 20 minutes.
Step 3
Seive the mixture and gather the stock.
Step 4
Into the stock, pour melted jaggery, coconut milk and powdered cummin.
Step 5
Seive the whole mixture again and serve.
Step 6
Ladies finger/okra soup is ready and serve hot.
Tip
When the recipe says "medium heat," it means medium. Kerala cooking is not about high-flame drama — most of the work happens at a patient, steady temperature.
