Kerala Style Naaranga Curry
A styled lemon pickle usually served for Sadhya dishes. Spicy and tangy flavored Kerala Style Naaranga Curry is the simplest of lemon pickle preparations with minimum ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Lime Vadukapuliyan Naaranga
- Or
- 8 nos Small Lemon Cherunaaranga
- 25 g Green chillies
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek powder (Uluva)
- 5 g Asafoetida powder (Kayam)
- 25 g Chilly powder
- 4 sprig Curry leaves
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the delicious pickle, first chop lemon/lime into fine pieces.
Step 2
Add salt, chilly powder and asafoetida powder to the finely chopped lime and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
Add curry leaves and Stir everything together thoroughly again.
Step 4
Cover and keep the pickle for sometime and use.
Tip
For a thicker gravy, cook uncovered on medium heat for the last few minutes. For a thinner consistency, add a splash of warm water.
