Kerala Style Chilly Chicken
A tempting, tasty dish full of aroma and flavor. The mouthwatering dish is simply irresistible. one of the favorite non-vegetarian dishes that blends perfect with porotta, chappathi and even rice based dishes.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1 kg Chicken — cut into small pieces
- 4 nos Garlic cloves
- 2 cup Onion — chopped
- 7 nos Green chillies
- 1 tsp Tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Chilly sauce
- 1 tsp Soya sauce
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Meat masala
- Red color A little
- Curry leaves, a few
- Oil — for frying
- <strong>For marination:</strong>
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Meat masala
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- 2 tbsp Curd
- 2 tsp Tomato sauce
- 2 tsp Chilly sauce
- 1 tsp Soya sauce
- Red color A pinch, Tandoori
- 1 tsp Salt
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Kerala Style Chilly Chicken, wash the chicken well and drain out excess water.
Step 2
Marinate the chicken pieces with the ingredients for marination for about 2 hours.
Step 3
Fry the marinated chicken pieces in oil.
Step 4
Remove excess oil by placing them on a tissue.
Step 5
Heat little oil in a pan.
Step 6
Fry garlic, till it turns brown.
Step 7
Add onions and fry, till they turn brown.
Step 8
Add green chillies and cook for a while.
Step 9
Add fried chicken pieces followed by the sauces and cook for sometime.
Step 10
Add pepper powder, meat masala, a pinch of color mixed in 2 tbsp of water and salt, if required.
Step 11
Stir for sometime on a low flame.
Step 12
Add curry leaves.
Step 13
Take it off the heat.
Step 14
Serve Kerala Style Chilly Chicken hot with parathas.
Tip
Marinate for at least 30 minutes if you can — the spices penetrate deeper and the chicken stays juicier.
