Kerala Spring Onion Thoran
A typical kerala style curry prepared with spring onions and coconut. It goes well with rice.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Spring onion
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
- Salt for taste
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 4 tbsp Coconut — grated
- 3 nos Unakka mulaku
- Curry leaves
Preparation
Step 1
Cut spring onion into small rounds, then add oil to pan, Add turmeric powder, unakka mulaku, curry leaves,sourte well.
Step 2
Next, add spring onion to the same, sourte well, add salt, finally add the grated coconut and cook till the colour of spring onion slightly change. Spring onion thoran ready.

Tip
Shred the vegetable as fine as you can — the thinner the cuts, the better the thoran. A sharp knife makes all the difference.
