Kerala Spicy Pepper Chicken
one of the favorite chicken dishes in Indian Cuisine. The pepper flavored dry roast dish goes well with ghee rice, chappati, pathiri etc. The peppery masala coats well on the chicken pieces.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Chicken
- 3 Onion
- 2 Tomato
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 tbsp Ginger
- 1 tbsp Garlic
- Curry leaves one hand full
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds roasted and — powdered
- 11/2 tsp Chicken Masala
- 2 tbsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the delicious dish, first clean and cut chicken into small pieces. Wash thoroughly and set aside.
Step 2
Warm the oil in a pan and add fenugreek seeds roasted and powdered and chopped ginger garlic.
Step 3
To this add onion, curry leaves, salt and cook well.
Step 4
Add green chilly and Let it cook for 5 minutes.
Step 5
When the onion turns lightly browned add all masalas. cook until the raw smell disappears.
Step 6
Add tomato and cook until soft.
Step 7
Add chicken pieces and Fold everything together gently. Cover the top and cook in medium flame for 30 minutes.
Step 8
Finally sprinkle 1 tbsp of fresh coconut oil and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 9
Pepper chicken is ready to serve.
Tip
Bone-in chicken gives a richer, more flavourful gravy than boneless. The marrow flavours the curry as it cooks.
