Kerala Idichakka Thoran

Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- Tender jackfruit chopped into pieces 1 cup
- 1 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 Onion
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 4 Greeen chilly
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Oil
- 5 Garlic
Preparation
Step 1
Chopp tender jackfruit into pieces.
Step 2
Cook this tender jackfruit in a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water.
Step 3
Then mash this cooked tender jack fruit in a mixer.
Step 4
Warm the oil in a kadai add mustard.
Step 5
When mustard allow to crackles add mashed jackfruit to this stir for 2 minutes in low flame.
Step 6
Ground coconut,cumin seeds,onion and green chilly in a mixer.
Step 7
Add this grind mix to chakka mix add salt and Stir everything together thoroughly.Let it cook for 3 minutes in low flame.
Step 8
Set a kadai over medium heat and pour in the oil add mustards when it allow to crackles add red chilly.cook for a minute.Add this to chakka mix.
Step 9
Mix all together and Let it cook for 2 minutes.Now idichakka thoran is ready.
Tip
Shred the vegetable as fine as you can — the thinner the cuts, the better the thoran. A sharp knife makes all the difference.
