Kerala Fish Pizza
Fresh fish cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Kingfish
- 2 tsp Butter
- 2 tsp Soya sauce
- 2 tsp Tomato sauce
- 1 nos Capsicum — chopped
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese — grated
- 1 cup All purpose flour Maida
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 nos Egg
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Butter
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp Baking powder
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing kerala fish pizza, cook the fish pieces with pepper powder, soya sauce, salt and 1/2 cup of water.
Step 2
Chop the cooked fish.
Step 3
Cook the chopped fish with tomato sauce, capsicum and onion till its colour turns light brown.
Step 4
Prepare the batter with flour, milk, egg, sugar, butter, salt and baking powder. 5)Heat butter in a frying pan.
Step 5
Spoon in some batter and it to make a pan cake.
Step 6
When holes start to appear on the pan cake, spread 4 tsp of fish masala on its top.
Step 7
Sprinkle the grated cheese.
Step 8
Turn over the pan cake and let it go for 2 minutes. Serve hot.
Tip
A clay pot gives fish curry a distinctive taste that metal pans cannot replicate. If you have a manchatti, use it.
