Kerala Fish Curry - Traditional
This is a fish curry recipe in kerala.It is a tasty fish curry we can eat with rice and chapathi.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 Onion
- 5 Garlic
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
- 1/2k g Fish — cut into medium pieces
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Fenugreek
- 2 tsp Oil
- 3 Coccum/kudampuli
- 3 Tomato
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Salt
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in meen chatti add mustard and fenu greek. When it allow to crackles add onions, stir for 3,4 minutes.
Step 2
Add ginger, garlic and green chillies Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add tomatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder cook for a minute.
Step 4
Add 1 cup water and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Next, add fish pieces to this gravy and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 6
Close meen chatti with a lid and Let it cook for 10 minutes until fish is cooked and gravy becomes thick.
Step 7
Next, add salt and kudam puli to this and cook for another 5 minutes in low flame.
Step 8
Now Kerala fish curry is ready to serve with rice or kappa.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
